Laser therapy is a surgery free, drug free, noninvasive treatment to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and increase the speed of healing. The laser can be used on just about any affected area other than the eyes, thyroid gland or any cancer. We have been using the laser therapy machine for over two years on many animals of all shapes and sizes, on ailments ranging from simple lacerations to dogs that were temporarily paralyzed. For example, we had an Airedale Terrier come in who was down in the back and could not use his back legs at all. We took radiographs and discovered spondylosis (arthritis of the back) and mild hip dysplasia. We offered a laser therapy package and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Mind you, we had to bring this dog into the clinic on a stretcher! After his first laser therapy treatment, the dog walked out of the clinic! The next day, when the owner brought the dog back for his second treatment, she couldn't believe the results. The owner said she was having a hard time keeping the dog quiet. After 6 treatments, 2 within 24 hours and then weekly for 4 weeks, Mr. Airedale Terrier was back to his normal self. Every now and then when his arthritis 'acts up', his owner will bring him by for a quick treatment. The take home message is: it works, it barely takes any time, it's non-invasive, it's relief for your pet!
